Passionate engineer – Curiosity and the urge to understand how things work have been driving me since childhood. I love to share my enthusiasm with others. To me, sustainability, solidarity, diversity, freedom of expression, free knowledge and access to open technology are key to a better life for all of us.
Wikibase Suite provides the software stack powering Wikidata as a production ready self-hosting solution. In a cross functional team, we adapt, test, package and release the software built originally for internal purposes as a suite of tools matching the requirements of external organizations.
As part of a team of medical professionals, user experience designers and software engineers, I contributed to the development of an Electronic Health Record system for Charité Berlin and other hospitals.
As a full stack developer, I implemented backend, frontend and devops infrastructure of a social network for education professionals. In my role as co-product manager, I contributed to the product design of the young startup.
As a trainer, I developed content, built and managed technical infrastructure and lead remote and on-site workshops for school classes, teachers and other groups on topics such as programming, game design, robotics, film production, Minecraft, and more.
As one of the first engineers, I have seen Mobisol grow from 5 to 700 employees. I contributed to the design and implementation of the full technology stack, recruiting, training and managing teams, as well as to the setup of the company in Rwanda and Tanzania. My main focus was leading a team developing the embedded firmware that powers over 50,000 solar home systems in the field.
At the Computer Graphics Chair of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Döllner I created tools and libraries to ease the development of 3D computer graphics applications for various platforms and different multi touch input devices. This software was used in several projects of other students and staff members as well as for my own masters thesis.
During university I ran a side business developing websites and custom desktop applications for clients. Some of the projects I did with partner designers and additional developers.
As one of the lead engineers at ARTECO, I contributed to two generations of the entire technology stack consisting of web, desktop and mobile frontends, backend on co-located and cloud servers as well as firmware on embedded devices in customers' vehicles.
